Who is this guy, anyway?
As you may be able to tell by now, Ian's interests are in improving businesses through creating innovative and exciting experiences for their end users. How this came to be is a long story, but here are some things which may help you figure out the method behind the madness.
In 2005, Ian created 4Q.cc, the website which created the "Chuck Norris Facts" meme. To date, 4Q has received in excess of 250 million pageviews and worldwide print, web, radio, and television coverage. The success of the website led Ian to author of two books, The Truth About Chuck Norris: 400 Facts About the World's Greatest Human, which is a New York Times Bestseller, and Chuck Norris vs. Mr. T: 400 Facts About the Baddest Dudes in the History of Ever. As of Summer, 2009, approximately 350,000 copies have been sold worldwide.
After the success of 4Q, Ian began focusing on practical and creative web application development and associated digital marketing. From 2008-2009 he served as president of the Brown University Entrepreneurship Program. Today he is a member of the program's advisory board and volunteers his time consulting startups.
In his spare time, Ian curates WhatIsAwesome.com. He has also spoken at a number of venues including ROFLCon 2008 at MIT and served as a discussion leader at the 2009 Ivy Leadership Summit. Conference-wise, Ian has attended EG 2008 and the 2009 Web 2.0 Expo in San Francisco.
Ian knows this isn't a particularly entertaining bio to read. Maybe you'd like to have a chat with him?
